Training in Equine Facilitated Learning (This training involves horses)

The training is suitable for anyone with an interest in working with horses and people, especially young people.

Stage 1

Must be completed before progressing to any stage 2 modules. Modules are run in pairs. Any pair can be completed in any order, as long as stage 1 has been completed. Can only be completed if all stage 2 modules have been completed. Includes Assessment.

NB: Modules 1 and 2 run together. 3 and 4 run together. 5 and 6 run together and 7 and 8 run together. All modules include equine activities and inside activities, to match the outcomes shown below; so participants will gain ideas for running sessions, to match the outcomes attached to the modules. Participants will receive a certificate and training manual on completion of each pair of modules.

This introductory course will involve both equine and non-equine based activities.

Course Covers:

  • An introduction into the theoretical knowledge, relating to brain development, and horses, that our work is based on.
  • Introductory activities, with horses, that can be used with young people.
  • Inside based introductory activities, linking into the equine activities, that can be used with young people.
  • Discussion on your specific needs, hopes, and desires for you future work with horses.

The final stage of training includes equine activities and inside activities, to match the outcomes shown below; so participants will gain ideas for running sessions, to match these outcomes.

  • Measuring and evidencing progress within sessions
  • Creating and capturing memories within sessions
  • Creating positive endings
