These sessions are beneficial for all children and young people, but especially those who may need a little extra input to fully engage with their learning, or those who could do with being pushed a bit further, in a highly engaging environment.

These sessions teach literacy, numeracy, science, humanities and any other curriculum subject, through the horses. All sessions will be clearly linked to curriculum outcomes so that progress can be evidenced.

Sessions include riding and non-riding equine, and creative class based activities. Curriculum sessions usually take place over a term or half a term. Our sessions can be designed around your current topics or we can design them around the theme of horses. Some examples of activities are shown below:

  • Creating stories and poems based on the work of Roald Dahl
  • Writing and acting out plays based on myths involving horses
  • Naming and drawing common shapes, and exploring symmetry, by leading horses to create them
  • Working out the costs of keeping a horse for varying time periods
  • Using practical activities to learn about and explore horse and human teeth and digestive systems
  • Learning about different horse species from around the world

Sessions:
Sessions fit into a school day. They usually take place at our site in Telford, although we are able to run sessions at your venue if needed. Appropriate levels of staffing are required to stay with the young people, at all times.

Cost:
Each Session costs £175 plus £20 per young person.

Age:
The sessions are suitable for all young people aged between 5-16. They are tailored to meet the specific needs of each group.

Measuring:
In a time of tight budgets we know that impact needs to be evidenced. We are happy to complete any progress reports that your school may require, or we can provide our own.
